What is the difference between a secure release and a public release of New York State Report Cards?

A secure release of report cards allows only authorized account holders, such as district superintendents, charter school leaders, and their staff designees, to view their own data. A public release of report cards allows anyone with access to the internet to view statewide, county, district, and school report card data. Data released securely is considered embargoed; publicly released data are not embargoed.

* Embargoed data cannot be saved as a PDF or printed; publicly released data can be saved as a PDF or printed.
