Data sources, reporting timelines, and business rules, such as those used for suppression and specific aggregations are in a “Business Rules” document. All three documents can be found on data.nysed.gov by selecting “School Report Card” under “School Data.” Definitions of data in the report card database are in the “ReadMe” PDF that accompanies the database. Both database and ReadMe document can be found on data.nysed.gov by selecting “Downloads” in the upper right corner of the screen and selecting the report card database for the year for which you are interested in data.
