Some schools and districts will put the student’s NYSSIS ID on their parent portal, on their student identification card, on their report card, or other student specific documents received by the parent or guardian. Some schools do not provide the NYSSIS ID to parents or guardians. In those cases, the school guidance counselor or school secretary may be able to assist. Since this is a unique identification number for your child, you will need to prove your identity and educational interest in obtaining this number from a local education agency. Remember, you may use only the student’s local ID in your application if you do not have access to the NYSSIS ID.
